LM 100W Laser Module – cut and seal in one efficient process

With the LM 100W, Zünd is introducing a laser module for sign and display applications. The purpose of this new laser cutting system is to cut polyester fabrics and seal the edges at the same time. This addition further amplifies the versatility of Zünd's modular, wide format cutting systems.

Soft signage offers tremendous potential in the vast and diverse world of visual communication media. Polyester fabrics are beginning to conquer applications previously ruled by paper and PVC substrates. To facilitate cutting this material, the company has developed the LM 100W laser module. It is designed to cut polyester textiles and simultaneously seal the edges. Frayed edges become a thing of the past. The LM 100W automates what has long been a separate, manual operation and thereby also eliminates the need for seaming. In addition, the LM 100W delivers impeccable cut quality and flawless repeatability. Because laser cutting is a touch free process, no hold down is required during processing.

It takes one operator a few simple steps and a matter of minutes to convert a Zünd cutter to a full blown laser cutting system. Once the laser job is completed, it is just as easy to reconfigure the cutter for the next application.

The laser module is equipped with an air cooled CO2 100W laser with a processing speed of 44 metres per minute. As a Class 1 laser, it requires no special safety gear such as protective glasses. The laser module is fully enclosed, which provides reliable protection for the operator.
