Longier RU3200 now available in the UK

Print Solutions

Quality Print Services (QPS) has launched the latest Longier grand format printer model, the Longier Hunter RU3200, to the UK market.

The 3.2 metre UV-LED roll to roll printer is fitted with Ricoh Gen5 printheads to provide variable drop sizes of vibrant CMYK and optional bright white ink and varnish. This combination offers outstanding quality on the widest range of flexible display materials.

Able to deliver resolutions of up to 600 x 1200 dpi at speeds in excess of 80 square metres per hour, the Hunter RU3200 offers high resolution output, reliability and user friendliness to a range of businesses across the sign and display industry.

The UK's first Longier Hunter RU3200 has already been installed at WAE

Group, a sign specialist based in Leeds. The company added the new machine – specially adapted to print unbacked mesh banners and fabric graphics – to its existing Hunter FP-3750 LED flatbed printer, which was installed by QPS in 2015.

Commenting on the original Longier Hunter FP-3750, WAE Group's managing director Paul Austin said, ‘Out of all our machines, the Longier flatbed's quality is the best we have; we use it when we need a really high end finish. It offers a smooth print with no banding, it is good on fine print and the coverage is nice.’

Ahead of the new RU3200's installation this autumn, Paul said he was drawn to the energy efficiency and sustainability offered by the new Longier's UV-LED curing technology, which has the added benefit of reducing power requirements and pollution associated with mercury vapour lamps.
