Ending the year on a high note, Antalis is delighted to report that it has helped train and up skill a record 500 people from across the country this year at its Digital Academy.

During 2017, Antalis has run 75 workshops through its popular Digital Academy – a facility equipped with the latest digital kit, offering live demonstrations and real life application case studies, located at its headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire.

Originally launched as an internal resource to enhance the skills and knowledge of its own employees, the Digital Academy was opened up to customers so that Antalis could share its expertise with the wider industry.

Three years on and it has grown at unprecedented pace, offering 30 different courses covering the full flow of the digital inkjet market, all led by independent experts who bring industry leading coaching to the sessions. Through a combination of theory and hands-on practical advice, the workshops help printers, designers and signmakers to up skill or diversify.

Giles Bristow, Antalis’ digital support manager, commented: ‘It has been great to see so many people through our doors this year and see the value in our unique training offering. We are continually looking to add more workshops to support our customers to help them develop their business and learn new skills. This year alone we have added our Corel Draw and Digital Wallcoverings Applications workshops to our roster which have been some of our most popular courses. Printers are always looking to diversify and open into new, profitable markets, and with the support from our academy, they can feel confident and knowledgeable about expanding their business.’

Planning ahead for 2018, Antalis is already working on a whole batch of new workshops in response to customer demand. In addition, it has some exciting new plans for the Academy, with details to be revealed in early 2018.

Giles added, ‘It is a truly exciting time for the print and visual communications sectors as we continue to innovate in technology, in media, and in application to meet the evolving needs of our customers. This, of course, presents ample opportunity for printers and signmakers to diversify and expand their business. With this in mind, it is vital to keep up to date with training to gain the edge that drives new business opportunity. This may mean investing in time off the job, but in the long run, it is sure to pay back many times over.

‘As we look forward to 2018, we have major plans for our Academy and look forward to welcoming even more customers seeking to up skill and expand their enterprise.’
