Offset presses ahead with HSBC funding

Packaging Solutions

Offset Print & Packaging, based in Maidstone, has received a substantial funding package from HSBC to purchase a new printing press and a folding and gluing machine to significantly improve productivity and the quality of its outputs as well as enable the company’s growth.

Thanks to the advanced technical capabilities of the new press, production speed has been doubled. The folding and gluing machine has increased capacity and the ability to accept increasing volumes of work.

The new investment was officially unveiled by Tracey Crouch MP, who said: ‘I am delighted to support Edward, Vince and Hugh as they usher in a new era for the company. Offset is a successful local business and we hope this new equipment will help them continue to thrive.’

Offset designs and manufactures a broad range of packaging solutions for the retail sector and also has a bespoke facility for the production of greeting cards. The business works with blue chip brands such as Fortnum & Mason, Graze, Pukka Herbs, Sony Corp, Ling Design, Carte Blanche Greetings and The Great British Card Company. The new machines ensure a faster, more efficient production throughput, allowing the company to take on additional business from existing and new customers.

Vince Brearey, co-owner of Offset Print & Packaging, said: ‘Our new machines will ensure we remain at the forefront in a continually growing and competitive market. The funding from HSBC has helped secure our future in this space and we’re delighted to have the bank’s support.’

Iain Smallbones, relationship director for corporate banking in Kent, added: ‘We have been working hard to become a true partner to Offset and it is exciting to see the advances the company is making with its new assets. Evolving digital capabilities mean companies in this sector must invest to stay ahead of the game and we are pleased to support Offset this way.’
