Alpha Converting was established in 1999 by Simon King. Based in Bedford, the company specialises in converting equipment for the print and packaging industry and the systems are used by customers across the world.

Today, Alpha Converting boasts an experienced team of technicians that assemble a variety equipment including slitting machines, winding equipment, spooling machinery, salvage doctor blades, trim winders and converting equipment. It is proud to say that all of its equipment is bespoke, tailor made to fit customer requirements and made in-house at the company’s facility in Bedford.

Its systems can handle everything from thin films to heavyweight board, from medical films to industrial fibreglass, and can be configured in a vast array of web widths depending on application.

From its start in 1999, the company has grown and flourished, opening a new factory last year. This is four times bigger than the previous facility, and allows Alpha Converting to extend production and employ more staff. This will meet its aim of continued and consistent expansion to meet customer demands.

The Automatic Slitter Rewinder is one of Alpha Converting’s most popular products. If offers features such as automatic core loading and finished roll packaging in line, which is customer engineered to the individual requirements of the customer and to provide maximum benefits to the production process.

Although a technically savvy manufacturer, which has a strong pool of knowledge and experience in manufacturing, Alpha Converting is also a very customer focused company – keeping service at the forefront of it business and not only meeting customer expectations, but exceeding them. Amongst Alpha Converting’s systems is the AlphaLab, a robust centre rewinder with cantilevered winding shafts suited to narrow width slitting and rewinding.

The AlphaLab can be supplied with twin differential rewinding shafts to handle sensitive films and foams or with single winding shaft suited to labelstocks, papers and rotary die cutting applications.
