Philtone adds Polar Flowline to take the strain out of cutting

Print Solutions

Philtone is investing in a Polar Flowline, a guillotine system that includes the Polar 115N cutter, a stacklift, jogger and Transomat. It is due in to the Bristol plant in April/May and will operate around the clock from the start.

‘Cutting will become less strenuous and that is the thinking behind this investment. Operators get tired when they are always lifting. The system will be good for operators and also alleviate bottlenecks and increase throughput which is good for the business and for our customers,’ said Neil Mercer, director.

Philtone has always had Polars and says that the relationship with Heidelberg is a proper two way partnership. Almost all its kit is Heidelberg supplied, including pressroom consumables. At the open house Neil and fellow director Steve Spencer said that they were very excited by the potential of LED and LE-UV technology. It does anticipate further investment this year after a very positive 12 months of growth unaffected by any Brexit issues.

This investment is supported by Close Brothers Asset Finance.
