Sharp Europe has launched its new line of A4 monochrome MFP devices. The MX-B355W and MX-B455W Advanced Series models are the first joint venture with partner Foxconn, and offer the same powerful workflow features and ease of use as Sharp’s A3 models.
The new models will have print speeds of up to 45 pages per minute and scanning speeds of up to 110 impressions per minute, and offer a combination of intuitive and time saving functions such as a customisable 7” LCD touch screen interface. This introduction of a common interface across Sharp’s range of A3 and A4 MFPs means that whichever device customers choose, whether colour or black and white, the user and IT administration experience is the same.
The MX-B355W and MX-B455W include functions typically associated with larger A3 devices, for example, office direct print and OCR capability, making it easier to digitise, store and share information.
The models also offer a free of charge pull printing solution, which stores print jobs for authentication. This means that documents are only printed when the user is at the device, so preventing sensitive documents being left unattended in the printer tray. This should be a consideration for all businesses reviewing their data handling processes ahead of the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May.
Ben Lake, senior product manager, said: ‘We understand that time and space can sometimes be a luxury in busy offices, and that users are looking for technology that makes daily tasks quicker and easier. Our new devices offer the same powerful performance and capabilities that you expect from a larger device but with the added flexibility of a smaller footprint.’
In addition to meeting all basic print, scan and copy needs, the A4 mono models can be easily integrated with existing network applications and public cloud services so information can be securely shared and accessed anywhere, anytime. Cloud connectivity gives easy access to popular applications including Microsoft OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Box and Google Drive via Sharp’s available Cloud Connect features. For extra piece of mind, the models also come equipped with the company’s multi-layered security suite.
