Xeikon Wallpaper décor a Fespa eyecatcher at Felix Schoeller

Demonstrating the large variety in digital printing is the focus for this year’s Fespa for the Felix Schoeller Group.

Brightly coloured trade fair walls printed on wallpaper material are the key focus on the company’s stand in hall 2.1 (stand C52), proving to be a real eye catcher for visitors. These included two sophisticated wall motifs printed on Felix Schoeller's StyLine non woven wallpapers using the Xeikon Wall Decoration Suite.

‘For Xeikon digital printing, we chose graphic 3D geometry and a golden metallic wallpaper that provides the ideal foil for toner digital printing in terms of look, haptics and feel. Our experience has shown that the Xeikon process is a commercially viable total solution for high volumes thanks to its print quality, high output, reliability and integrated finishing modules,’ said Michael Avermann, product manager for Digital Wallpaper at Felix Schoeller. ‘The high opacity of the additional white ink on the metallic background of the wallpaper and use of the painting module incorporated in the Wall Decoration Suite bring uniformity to the appearance and highlights the 3D motif. The printed greyish white fibres look almost lifelike.’

Felix Schoeller's StyLine non woven wallpapers have been specially developed for digital printing technologies. In their uncoated version, StyLine Hamburg, they are ideal for printing with dry toner systems from Xeikon. They guarantee excellent and homogeneous printing results with a soft and appealing matt surface. They are PVC free and simultaneously meet the highest requirements for fire protection.

Another advantage is the excellent dry strippability, meaning that frequent wallpaper changes can be carried out in a matter of minutes for living rooms and children's rooms, restaurants, bars, and hotels, as well as at exhibition stands and in corporate buildings.

Xeikon’s CX500 Wall Decoration Suite features maximum production capacity with a maximum printing speed of up to 900 m² per hour. This means it meets the market requirements for producing wall decoration in high volumes. The Wall Decoration Suite includes a specially developed wallpaper rewinder with cutter and remover to produce fully finished wallpaper rolls in one streamlined operation. A painting module is also available as an option. The suite is powered by the X-800 digital front end that offers numerous productivity and colour management features to ensure high colour stability and high output consistency.
