The first NS Multi LG digital printers for corrugated board and boxes roll off the line

Packaging Solutions

The first orders for the newly launched NS Multi-LG by digital printer manufacturer New Solution Engineering, have just started to ship. The groundbreaking flatbed digital corrugated printer, launched at Fespa last month, prints directly on to uncoated or coated media for the customisation of corrugated card and board, pre-cut folding boxes and craft cartons.

Ideal for direct printing onto boxes and board aimed at a wide variety of markets including warehousing, shipping, food, beverage, storage, gifts and more, the NS Multi LG allows print service providers to offer short run custom packaging as well as being affordable enough for product manufacturers and logistics facilities to adopt the technology themselves and print in-house.

Sales director Marco Apolinário explained, ‘Compared to other printers on the market, at a cost price of €92,800, the NS Multi LG offers an amazing value proposition to any company that has a need for the customisation of boxes and with the added bonus of opening up more profit making opportunities such as personalisation and regionalisation of products and packaging.’

The five colour (CMYKK) NS Multi LG features a 1200 mm media width, a 1066 mm print area, print speeds of up to 300 mm per second and a resolution of up to 1600 x 1600 dpi. A single pass printhead colour inkjet printer incorporating Memjet technology, the NS Multi LG enables exceptionally fast print speeds at very high quality and very low cost.

‘The key to great print output is great design so it is important to understand what stock you will be printing on before the design process starts,’ commented marketing manager Vitor Maia. ‘To be able to print directly on to uncoated media is important and this printer will give consistent results in full colour when printing onto uncoated stock and also gives outstanding results on craft and corrugated board using text and one or two colours.’

For higher quality results, coated media is required and the output from the NS Multi LG will not disappoint, with the option of further lamination or varnish available should a high water resistance or gloss/matt varnish look be desirable.
