Taopix has appointed Nigel Lee as executive chairman. He will head up the executive team taking direct responsibility for all commercial and financial aspects of the business.

Nigel joined the Taopix board of directors in 2017 and has been working closely with the senior team since then.

‘Since joining the board last year Nigel has helped us enormously in sharpening our focus, improving our working practices and helping us define our core strategy for growth across all aspects of our business,’ said James Gray, founder and CEO of Taopix. ‘It was a natural step for me to take in asking Nigel to take more of an active role in helping us execute on our plans. I was delighted when he said yes.’

Taopix first met Nigel during his tenure as CEO of Lulu.com. Lulu.com became a customer of Taopix and both CEOs maintained a regular strategic dialogue.

‘Myself and the team have been continually impressed with the contribution Nigel has made to our business so far. The opportunity to have someone on the team full time who speaks ‘fluent customer’ is an opportunity not to be missed,’ explained James. ‘Having led Lulu.com, Nigel is uniquely positioned to see our product from the end consumer’s perspective and not least through the eyes of our customer.’

Prior to Lulu.com, Nigel had built a successful track record in growing software companies in the finance and banking technology space. He has over 28 years experience in commercial software and has occupied an executive role for the last 19 of those 28 years.

‘Taopix is about to enter another period of exponential growth and having someone with Nigel’s track record lead this commercial focus is invaluable. Growing software companies is what he does. Our customers have a lot to look forward to in terms of the innovative products and services we are about to bring to market, and not least improvements we will make to our customer engagement at all stages of the customer relationship,’ concluded James.

In his new role, Nigel will take full financial and commercial responsibility including company strategy, finance, sales and marketing and professional services. James Gray retains the position of CEO with a primary focus on product and technology. Together, they will lead Taopix on an ambitious growth path further cementing the firm’s global market leadership position in the photo commerce software industry.
