New leadership in the Herma UK self-adhesive materials division

Packaging Solutions

The UK subsidiary of self-adhesive materials specialist Herma has completed a change in its management. Paul Eggbeer has taken over from long standing divisional director, Colin Phillips, who has left the company for personal reasons.

Speaking of Colin, Dr Thomas Baumgärtner, Herma managing director and head of the self-adhesive materials division, explained: ‘The strong market position held by Herma’s self-adhesive materials division in the UK is attributable to his great personal commitment. We therefore thank him for his long standing commitment!’

Colin’s successor Paul Eggbeer has a wealth of knowledge gained over several decades at Herma – within the labelling and packaging market place. He was introduced to the company in the late 1980s. Previously he was working for a renowned British company where he held the position of sales manager UK from 1990.

In February 2000, he took a leading role in the foundation of Herma UK. ‘Having been in close contact with Herma as a supplier played a significant part of my decision to work directly for the company. With the support of our customers, Herma Germany, and colleagues from both sides of the channel, we have established Herma UK as a major supplier of self-adhesive materials. The new position is a great honour for me and fills me with pride that I am able to drive the business forward. In addition, it is a great challenge and a fantastic opportunity for our whole team in Newbury to further advance Herma UK,’ said Paul.

‘Thanks to his extensive experience, our new director will play a decisive role in shaping Herma’s strategic course, thereby continuing his predecessor’s successful work,’ added Thomas Baumgärtner.
