Stephens & George adds even more cutting capacity

Print Solutions

Just two years after Stephens & George added its Polar Pace 200, the company has come back to add a Polar 115N Plus and a jogger. The new cutter will replace a 2003 model Polar 115ED.

‘We have really sophisticated cutting at the plant, including Prinect Cut Manager and Polar Compucut for maximum efficiency,’ said Andrew Jones, managing director of Stephens & George. ‘We have long recognised that adding materials handling to a guillotine makes a significant impact on throughput and production efficiency. In the magazine market and for commercial work demand for the fastest turnarounds without compromise to quality, is key and the Polar cutting solutions are great, easy to run and very reliable.

‘This order is a simple update of an older model but the additional productivity will be welcome given the additional output we expect from the Speedmaster XL 106 Push to Stop long perfector that will be delivered this autumn.’

The Polar N115 is Polar’s best selling guillotine worldwide and the Plus model is the most advanced version. It features an 18.5 cm colour display and touchscreen and the automatic graphic programming and graphic operator guidance give it the automation needed by a busy printer.
