Aztec Label celebrates 25 years at peak of labels expertise

Packaging Solutions

Aztec Label has marked a quarter of a century of producing high quality self-adhesive labels by completing a £250,000 refurbishment of its Kidderminster premises.

Established in 1993, the company has grown steadily throughout the last three decades and recently refurbished its expansive premises to ensure it remains at the forefront of delivering superior labels and tag products.

‘Our commitment to using top of the range modern machinery and highly qualified staff in all aspects of the business helps us ensure that we always deliver quality products and services on time to customers throughout the UK and further afield,’ said managing director Colin Le Gresley. ‘I started the company in my home garage, but over the last 25 years we have enjoyed continuous growth to reach our current size, moving within Kidderminster six times until settling in our current location. Our newly refurbished premises now operate with innovative, modern presses and equipment and we use cutting edge management information systems to keep track of production processes.’

Colin explained that Aztec Label, which manufactures a wide range of self-adhesive label and tag products, from plain to 10 colours, built its success on forging strong relationships with customers the length and breadth of the country. ‘The knowledge levels of our staff stretch far beyond those of many other companies, with nearly 250 years of collective production and management experience,’ he said. ‘No matter how large an order is, we have the skills, production capacity and resources to fulfil it.

‘Our base in the West Midlands means that we are also ideally located to serve the whole of the UK and beyond,’ he added. ‘Our attention to detail and experience has allowed us to form solid, longstanding relationships with external suppliers, bonds which allow us to ensure that we offer a quality product and service every single time.’

With sustainability a hot topic for many, Colin said Aztec Label has successfully implemented a full quality control system at every stage of its operation, with rigorous testing and cross checks to eliminate errors and reduce waste. ‘We also have full traceability on the key materials used, which is pivotal for many customers whose CSR agenda is, rightly, of vital importance to them, he explained.

To celebrate the milestone of 25 years in business, every one of the colleagues at the company recently enjoyed a long weekend in Barcelona. ‘This is a family operated business, and we pride ourselves on treating all of our staff like family members,’ said Colin. ‘Our experienced, dedicated and professional staff – some of whom have been with Aztec Label for more than 20 years – are a key component in the success of what we do. We wanted to do something as a team to mark this exciting and momentous occasion.’

During the trip, the colleagues soaked up the sights of the historic city with visits to Gaudi’s famously unfinished Basilica de la Sagrada Familia and the beautifully bizarre Park Güell, while enjoying the finest meals available on Las Ramblas.

Looking ahead to the next quarter of a century, Colin said Aztec Label would continue striving to remain at the pinnacle of labels success. ‘Our mission statement has remained consistent across more than 25 years of operation; to offer all of our customers the best possible quality, pricing structure and service,’ he said. ‘Our commitment to using the best equipment, materials and staff has given us an edge that is respected both by our customers and within our industry.

‘As we move into the next exciting chapter of our history, our goal is to not just maintain these incredibly high standards we have set ourselves, but indeed to raise the bar further still. That is just our way.’
