Adare SEC launched its first ‘A Day to Make a Difference’ volunteering campaign across its UK locations on Monday October 14.

As part of the company’s wider ‘Great Place to Work’ initiative, the campaign encourages colleagues from across Adare SEC’s three facilities to volunteer and make a positive impact within their local community.

Volunteers from its Huddersfield headquarters conducted conservation work at RSPB Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve, Castleford where they helped to remove small trees and shrubs from grassland and reedbed habitats. Over the last 60 years the reserve has transitioned from an ex-industrial site to an important ground for breeding and wintering wildfowl.

Colleagues from its Redditch facility gave their time to partake in Redditch Borough Council’s ‘Litter Warden Scheme’, litter picking across several local areas including parks and a lake. Volunteers from the Nottingham site will take part in volunteering work in a local care home later in the month.

Commenting on the charitable activity, Adare SEC chief executive officer, Rachael Nevins, said: ‘The need to be environmentally responsible has never been more important and Adare SEC is committed to making a positive impact where possible. Our ‘A Day to Make a Difference’ campaign gives our colleagues the opportunity to go out into the local communities and do their part and we are very proud of the difference they are making.

The ‘A Day to Make a Difference’ campaign follows on from Adare SEC becoming the first UK communications provider to use window envelopes that are 100% recyclable and biodegradable which supports the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) objective of becoming one of the UK’s most sustainable communications solutions companies.

At present, Adare SEC is in the top 15% of the world’s most sustainable communication solutions companies, as evaluated by global independent CSR assessment agency EcoVadis and has a target to rank in the top 5% in 2020.

Adare SEC’s clients include financial services company Allianz, multinational commercial bank Santander and nature conservation charity RSPB.

Adare SEC is a leading provider of technology-led integrated communication solutions and has a turnover of £69.7m. The company employs 440 people.
