Graphic Image Films’ new anti-bacterial film

Print Solutions: Positive About Print

The latest product from Graphic Image Films is an anti-bacterial film that gives additional protection to any finished job. The anti-bacterial property remains within the material for the lifetime of the film. Rather than being a coating, this film for paper lamination is impregnated with this special capability. The critical advantage of which is that the anti-bacterial properties do not reduce or wear out over time.

Available in both gloss and matt finishes, the films are BOPP (Polypropylene) based. They are the same as Graphic Image Films’ arts range, which means they behave exactly the same as the other films. This makes it extremely easy to adopt as there is no need for any amends or tweaks to machine settings. The films’ versatility also lends itself for use with a vast range of applications. Of particular interest would be those communications that are likely to be given out and/or handled by multiple people. These could include hospitality laminated media, food and drink menus, corporate brochures, medical information from doctors, dentists and hospitals through to business cards and more.

While we are in these uncertain times there are no guarantees, however the film has been lab tested for Esherichia Coli (E Coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). As a result, it has been proven to reduce bacterial levels ≥ 99% and it also conforms to ISO 22196. This is the recognised industry measurement of anti-bacterial activity on plastics and other non porous surfaces.

Sandro Mosquera, managing director of Graphic Image Films, commented: ‘Unfortunately in the climate we now find ourselves we need to take as many precautions as we can. Any product like this one, which offers some protection against killing bacteria, has to be a good thing. So as exclusive distributors, we are understandably delighted to be bringing this industry leading lamination film to the UK. This sits well with us also now supplying PPE to help many of our customers.’

Available now in multiple widths, the films can also be supplied with bespoke conversion to alternative sizes.
