Arctic

A winter (and all year round) wonderland thanks to Arctic Paper

The iconic 2026 Munken Agenda embraces the idea of circularity – breaking away from a linear perception of time and transforming it into a circle that opens space for reflection and creativity.

As always, this is much more than just a calendar. It is an object that combines planning with creativity – its double sided format lets you choose between a classic weekly planner (‘Calendar Side’) and a colourful space filled with games, prompts and blank pages (‘Creativity Side’).

The visual identity is inspired by the Aurora Borealis, a tribute to Arctic Paper’s Nordic heritage, and the concept was developed by Elienai Barboza, Emma Mapelli, Blu Rigassi and Nour Tabka – students of IED Milan.

Question: Who are the two ‘stars’ who guide users through the Munken Agenda?

Foilco

All sparkling and bright, thanks to Foilco

The Foilco team understands the importance of design in the graphic arts – to complement the product by adding value and creating a real ‘wow’ moment, whilst remaining sustainable.

To answer the needs of specifiers, and to allow them to see just what can be achieved with foil, the company launched its now iconic Index, which was the first fully customisable foil swatch book for the design and print industry, and it has become an essential tool for design.

Presented in a loose leaf format in a ring binder, and grouped in tonal colours, with over 200 hot stamping foil shades and finishes, the cards are fully recyclable, and highlight the full range of Foilco foils.  This format allows users to easily add new cards or to rearrange colours and textures as they wish.

Graham Wood is a distinguished British graphic designer and creative with decades of experience.  A limited edition poster was born out of

a photograph from the back of a taxi in New York. Graham asked Foilco if there was anything that could be done to enhance it. The company used its 6110MN Ghost Silver Satin foil, and teamed up with Dreyer Kliche, which created a large scale etched die, and Fedrigoni for Sirio paper. The result is a beautiful one of a kind moon illustration – and now it can be yours!

Happy holidays and warm wishes, thanks to Plockmatic

This year, Plockmatic Group announced new technology, the latest of which is the new Plockmatic SC7800 Pro XL digital die cutter.

The SC7800 Pro XL, available early in 2026, has a dual cutter/creaser and incorporates a revolutionary tangential creasing tool, with male (convex) and female (concave) elements, delivering sharper, more defined creases, for the effortless completion of high quality folds. Notably, the new system handles B2 sized sheets up to 450 microns and a wide range of media including synthetics. The new digital system eliminates the need for costly dies.

The company is also seeing success with its DigiFold Ultra. This is a creasing/folding machine with full bleed trim capabilities. It can slit, cut, crease, perforate, and fold in one pass.

DigiFold Ultra’s long sheet trimming is a  complement to the latest printing presses which now offer duplex printing on longer sheets. Rather than adding a free standing guillotine for the trimming of 560 mm long sheets, the Ultra allows customers to leverage the capabilities of new presses, with its ability to trim sheets up to 1300 mm.
