Packaging Solutions Midlands based allpack has marked its 25th anniversary by carrying out a major upgrade of its headquarters and doubling its warehouse capacity. The company has also used the six figure investment to commemorate four of the industry’s best known pioneers, by naming the refurbished areas in their honour. From small beginnings, the family firm has grown into a team of almost 50 people and counts household names such as Dunelm, Travis Perkins, Wickes, Mazda and Volvo among its growing portfolio of blue chip clients. TPC keeps lamination in-house with a new Komfi Delta 52

Print Solutions Berkhamsted based The Print Centre has brought lamination in-house by installing a new Komfi Delta 52 industrial thermal laminator from Friedheim International. The laminator, which was purchased for just under £35,000, was installed at the end of August after the 18 staffed company undertook a raft of demonstrations with various finishing suppliers. Print Solutions Smurfit Kappa has begun operating a sophisticated combined heat and power plant (CHP) to reduce emissions and increase the profitability of its Townsend Hook paper mill in Kent. The new CHP, which provides steam and electricity for the paper machine, will slash the mill’s carbon footprint by at least 15%. Earlier this year, Smurfit Kappa reported reaching its fossil CO2 emission reduction target three years ahead of schedule. Cosmo Films installs a wide format lamination machine

Packaging Solutions Cosmo Films has announced installation of a new solvent less lamination machine. The new machine has been commissioned at company’s existing facility at Karjan, near Vadodara, India which already houses BOPP lines, extrusion coating and chemical coating lines and a metaliser. The installed machine is a Nordmeccanica product which is 1.8 metre wide and can run up to 450 metres for minute speed. The machine can produce multilayer film laminates in any thickness and go as thick as 450 microns.
