Screen announces collaboration with Prati at Labelexpo

Screen and Prati have announced a collaboration to develop an interface between the Screen Truepress Jet L350UV series of digital label presses and the Digifast One modular digital converting line. Aimed at maximising end to end productivity, the interface delivers a near line connection, allowing label printers the flexibility to run integrated in line or standalone off line jobs, according to the needs of the production schedule.

‘As with all our technology, our main aim is to maximise productivity and accuracy whilst minimising downtime,’ stated Chiara Prati, sales and marketing director, Prati. ‘As a leading player in the label press market, Screen is a natural partner for us, particularly as inkjet rises in popularity. Our two companies share a similar ethos and vision for how we can best support each other in our goals for the labels and packaging industry.’

Prati has played a leading role in the label finishing industry for over four decades. With over 2500 machines installed, the Italian company is centred on innovation, quality and lifelong reliability. An advanced digital finishing machine, Digifast One, enables processing at speeds of up to 90 metres per minute and is totally modular. Accuracy is guaranteed with tight tolerances, minimising downtime between jobs and greatly boosting productivity. The digital label finishing line offers similar high speed processing together allowing a cohesive production line that runs from data input through to label finishing. In addition, advantages such as decreased times for setup and adjustment of varnishing, lamination, die cutting and slitting, providing high speed processing enable significant cost reductions during label production.

Prati will demonstrate the Digifast One on stand 5C41, and Screen debuts the Truepress L350UV+ series on stand 9B30 at Labelexpo.
