Swanline Paper & Board (SPB) has launched a new 100% fibre based display board with strong eco credentials for indoor retail signage and point of sale displays to rival plastic alternatives.

Cygnus Excellent display board has been designed to be durable and robust, yet is fully recyclable and FSC certified.

Ross Griffin, managing director at SPB, said: ‘The market is demanding eco friendly solutions for display and signage requirements. The challenge for us has been to develop a board that considers the environment whilst competing with plastic in terms of its rigidity and strength, aesthetics and performance. We believe that Cygnus Excellent display board addresses all those needs and more!’

Challenging the foam PVC, styrene and foam boards markets, Cygnus Excellent display board offers outstanding flatness, meaning it will not curl or crease for the lifespan of the product, and a smooth white surface for superior printability; it is suitable for direct print in offset, screen and UV flatbed digital printing techniques.

In addition, it delivers 50% greater rigidity compared to leading European made foam PVC. This added strength means the fibre board will not crack or shatter during cutting, which can happen with some plastic substrates. Furthermore, transportation and storage costs can be reduced by up to a third as less material is required to achieve the equivalent level of rigidity delivered by low density foam PVC.
