Canon partners with hybrid mail provider CFH to enable efficient inkjet colour printing

Print Solutions

CFH Docmail Ltd (CFH), one of the UK’s largest providers of transactional print and mail, has awarded imaging solutions leader Canon a five year contract to supply an Océ ColorStream 6000 Chroma continuous inkjet web press. The move will enable CFH to offer high quality, competitive colour products at speed and volume.

Adam Harwood, managing director of CFH Radstock said, ‘Modern inkjet printing systems offer high quality colour printing at the same or faster speeds than the black only toner systems, and at a lower price point than mono or colour toner systems. With colour lasers typically only able to produce 80 to 150 A4 images per minute, having a system that can produce 1700 colour images per minute at lower running costs is almost a mandatory capability for a commercial print and mail house.

‘As a major player in the transactional print and mail industry, we needed to find a solution that would allow the company to evolve alongside industry demands, while demonstrating a clear return on investment. We were impressed with the versatility, efficiency and sustainability of the Océ ColorStream 6000 Chroma and, having enjoyed a long partnership with Canon Océ, which supplies our VarioStream continuous toner and VarioPrint cut sheet printers, we are confident we have made a strong decision.’

Stuart Rising, Canon UK’s head of commercial print, said: ‘We are delighted to extend our partnership with CFH, a leader in the exciting and rapidly evolving hybrid mail market. As a company committed to environmental and sustainability goals such as responsible management of the world’s forests and the reduction of businesses’ carbon footprint, CFH shares the same core values as Canon. We are positive the Océ ColorStream 6000 Chroma continuous inkjet web press will take Docmail to the next level, enabling CFH to offer exceptional quality colour products while maintaining low costs.’
