Leeds Die Cutting cements one stop shop approach with Horizon buy

Print Solutions

Trade finisher Leeds Die Cutting has honed its ability to be a one stop shop with an Intelligent Finishing Systems supplied Horizon SPF-200L bookletmaker.

Established more than 11 years ago, the operation handles a mix of litho and digital print for customers the North, South and West Yorkshire areas including Sheffield, Rotherham, Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds, as well as nationwide.

‘We bought a Horizon SPF-FC200A four years ago and it has been an absolute workhorse,’ stated Leeds Die Cutting owner Ian Bradley. ‘We have produced six to seven million books on it. But we always want to be running the most efficient and flexible system so it was time to reinvest in the latest technology and also close a couple of gaps in the services that we offer.’

He continued, ‘We know the Horizon systems well and can trust they will be consistent, reliable and complete the work to a high quality. They are also easy to use and quick to set up which means we are as productive as we can be.’

The Horizon SPF-200L landscape feed bookletmaker combines stitching and folding with the ability to handle sheets up to 640 mm in length. JDF ready, it offers instant set ups via a large icon based colour touchscreen for user friendly operation. The screen can be used for on the run fine tune adjustments as well as the storage and recall of up to 200 jobs

‘It has also allowed us to enhance our service and ensure we can supply customers with what they are looking for,’ added Ian. ‘We had been turning away landscape work and loop stitching requests but now we can say yes.’

Since it has been installed the Horizon SPF-200L has been making an impact. ‘It was a smooth transition and it has already run some landscape work. It is completing jobs as expected. It will pay for itself in no time,’ said Ian.
