PJ Print enhances digital print production with Horizon PF-40L

Ipswich based PJ Print has elevated responsiveness in its digital print department with a Horizon PF-40L folder from Intelligent Finishing Systems.

The new addition was chosen to enhance the fast and flexible production of short run jobs. It is handling digital print from Ricoh Pro C7200 and Ricoh Pro 8320 digital presses.

Ben Perkins, managing director, explained: ‘We are being asked to handle smaller runs and meet faster turnaround times. After reviewing our digital print department we decided a small dedicated folder would be perfect to manage the workload in a streamlined way.’

He continued, ‘We recently installed a Horizon BQ-270V perfect binder so we know Horizon well and like its systems. The build quality is good and the solutions are easy to use. The folder is no exception. It went in very well and does the job.’

PJ Print’s PF-40L combines high volume suction feed capabilities with intelligent automation. The 1000 sheet capacity top fed system is the same suction feed system used on the highly popular VAC Collators. Its push button control panel enables any user to set up for the six most popular fold patterns of standard cut sheet sizes. The paper size range for the PF-40L is from 5” x 5” to 12.6” x 24.8” and thicknesses from 50 to 90 g/m2 cover without requiring pre-scoring or creasing. Memory capacity allows for easy programming of ten fold patterns and/or non-standard sheet sizes to be recalled at any time.
