Antalis has announced the immediate UK and Ireland launch of Sintrex, a new lightweight expanded rigid PET sheet developed using innovative manufacturing technology from 3A Composites.

Designed for the needs of the sign and display, large format print and exhibition markets, Sintrex offers excellent printability, outstanding fire performance and high versatility. It is a lightweight, reliable and extremely easy to process printing substrate.
Manufactured from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), Sintrex features natural white surfaces that deliver strong colour reproduction across printing technologies, including digital and screen printing. The rigid, yet lightweight structure, allows for fast processing and efficient handling, making it suitable for applications such as printed signage, point of sale, displays and show construction, for both indoor and outdoor use.
It can be cut, milled, folded, bent and thermoformed, and is suitable for laminating, painting and gluing, making it a flexible solution for a wide range of technical applications.
Available in 5 and 10 mm thicknesses, with 1220 x 2440 mm and 2030 x 3050 mm sheet sizes, the substrate meets stringent fire regulations, achieving EN 13501-1 B-s1, d0 (5 mm) and B-s2, d0 (10mm) classifications which are vital for retail, public buildings and exhibition environments.
PET is also one of the most recyclable plastics available, and can be repeatedly recycled, supporting customers’ increasing focus on more sustainable material choices.
‘Sintrex has been developed with the needs of printers and sign makers in mind,’ said Paul Neale, product manager. ‘It offers an excellent balance of print quality, lightweight handling and fire performance, giving our customers a versatile new option for indoor and outdoor signage, display and exhibition applications.’
