Designed by Honest Studio and printed by Taylor Brothers, Bristol, the Dyson Cancer Centre's celebration is a commemorative book to celebrate the support of those who made the new Dyson Cancer Centre possible. Printed on Antalis’ Olin Design grade, the book has a warm, tactile feel that aligns with hospital charity RUHX's brand identity and the heartfelt message within its pages.

RUHX is the official NHS charity of the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust. The recently built Dyson Cancer Centre at the RUH Bath first opened its doors to patients thanks to RUHX, which, together with supporters, raised £10 million towards this cancer services hub. To show sincere appreciation and recognise this life changing achievement, the Dyson Cancer Centre book was created. Antalis, Taylor Brothers, Honest Studio and RUHX worked together to develop artwork sympathetic to the cause.

The Dyson Cancer Centre itself inspires the book's design, with its nature themed signage developed into a suite of animal iconography to complement the centre's interior design plan. The book itself focuses on the centre’s campaign, construction, creativity, commitment and commemoration.

Knowing the paper choice was key, the team tested various paper samples, focusing on colour reproduction, which was especially important given the many images throughout the book. Olin Design from Antalis proved flawless in performance and was unanimously agreed upon as the best fit for the book.

Olin Design, Regular Bright White 170 g/m2 was used for the pages and 350 g/m2 for the covers. The 80 page, landscape book was printed by carbon balanced printer Taylor Brothers, on its Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 in four colours, plus a PMS with three foils and matt laminate.

‘Olin looked great on the solids, the CMYK and the special PMS,’ said Shaun Cooper, sales director at Taylor Brothers. ‘It was an honour to print this book; not only is it a true celebration of human kindness and generosity, but it also highlights the progress and achievements possible when we join and give full support to a good cause. The paper printed beautifully, with fantastic colour reproduction for the photos. We will be sure to use Olin Design for future projects that need a sincere and tasteful look and feel,’ added Shaun.

Some 2000 books were published, with copies provided to major donors to honour their contributions to this facility for the community.
