Print Solutions

Beamglow has invested in new technology from Heidelberg. An XL106-7+LYY-1+L Heidelberg printing press is now in full production. The company’s decision to replace an older seven colour double coat litho press is part of a well thought business strategy. Beamglow’s strategy focuses on efficiency, flexibility and on maintaining the highest possible standards of quality and sustainability for their customers.

This latest investment in Heidelberg tech marks a significant moment in the evolution of the business, which is one of the industry’s foremost carton manufacturers.

‘This decision to replace the older seven colour double coat litho press is part of our rolling machinery replacement policy. We are using this opportunity to take advantage of market leading developments and technology, and gain flexibility, efficiency, quality, and consistency,’ said James Griffin, projects director at Beamglow.

‘Heidelberg has a long pedigree in press manufacture, compounded by both ongoing development and technical support. We expect to see an overall gain throughout the process, from raw material to finished product. We have taken a holistic approach including make ready times, sheets on the floor, downtime, and quality. This would impact on further processes. Our customers will benefit from the investment in a very highly spec’d packaging press, to maintain Beamglow’s reputation at the forefront of the industry.’

Matt Rockley, product executive sheetfed and digital of Heidelberg UK, said: ‘We are so proud that Beamglow has chosen the new Heidelberg XL106-7+LYY-1+L. The overall output and efficiency have improved significantly, thanks to the intelligent automation and technology offered by the XL106. A whole range of ecological components are ensuring that the Speedmaster XL 106 minimises energy consumption, emissions, paper waste and other waste – while maximising productivity.’

Beamglow manufactures high quality printed folded cartons. Since it was founded in 1966, it has sought to provide premium products and services within the packaging sector.
