The day began with a series of thought provoking roundtables discissions on the theme ‘Industry Future – How to remain focused whilst being innovative in an everchanging climate’. Led by experts from across the sector, the roundtables offered attendees the opportunity to engage on seven different topics around shaping the future of the print industry. Roundtable experts included Yolandie Gibbs and Ian Dalton, BPIF; Tom Head, G3NR8; Jean-Paul Wheater, Linney; Andy Pike, HP; Mark Boyt, Keypoint Intelligence; Kyle Jardine, Matt Child, Yasmin Brotherson and Carys Davis, BPIF.

Members were also given an overview of the BPIF’s annual review, sharing the successes and achievements of the past 12 months and presenting upcoming focuses for 2025/26.  CEO Charles Jarrold highlighted the release of the latest biennial UK Printing Facts & Figures and the Priorities for Print – that showcases the sector’s scale, diversity and contribution to the UK economy and setting industries lobbying priorities.

In the afternoon, the event moved to the House of Lords for the annual drinks reception on the terrace. Attendees had the opportunity to network with parliamentarians and hear from Louisa Bull of Unite the Union who addressed key challenges and opportunities for the industry, including education and the need for a coordinated industrial strategy.

Charles Jarrold spoke about the strength and adaptability of the print industry and called for stronger collaboration between government and the sector. He urged policymakers to cut red tape and support the industry’s growth and praised growing unity across the sector through initiatives like GPMA and Print Green.

A highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of two industry awards.

The Kathy Woodward Award for Learning, sponsored by Webmart, was awarded to Holly Chatterton, print technician at Go Print. Presented by Kelly O’Sullivan, CEO from Webmart, the award honours the memory of former BPIF CEO Kathy Woodward and supports the career development of individuals in the print, packaging and graphic design sectors.

The Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Printing Industry was presented to Robert McClements, recognised for his long standing leadership, mentoring and tireless support of the print sector.
