CMYUK has announced a new strategic agreement with Liyu England, headed by Eddie Tucker, managing director. Under the agreement, Liyu England becomes CMYUK’s first UK agent, representing both its production technology and materials portfolio.
The appointment brings CMYUK’s applications knowledge, technical and engineering support, showroom infrastructure, training, and customer service together with Eddie’s deep relationships across the UK Liyu community and his long standing experience in wide format technology sales.
For existing Liyu users, it creates a stronger support proposition and a clear route into wider production opportunities, including finishing, automation, and digital textiles.
As managing director of Liyu England, Eddie has played a key role in establishing the company as a commercially successful printer brand in the UK. Following a period away from the business due to significant health challenges, he has returned with a more focused, sustainable model built around customer relationships, technical value, and long term growth.
‘Eddie is recognised as a highly committed, customer orientated figure in the Liyu community,’ said Robin East, group chief commercial officer, CMYUK. ‘He knows the industry dynamics, he understands the equipment landscape, and the importance of helping businesses create efficient holistic production environments.
‘This new agreement gives Eddie the platform to continue supporting that community, but now with the full backing of CMYUK behind him. It is a strong, practical proposition that is built on service, trust, and dedicated long term customer value.’
Liyu Platinum Technologies customers will now have access to CMYUK’s wider infrastructure, including its demonstration facilities, technical support teams, and portfolio of premium production equipment and materials. This includes the Jwei range of digital cutting and finishing equipment, giving Liyu users the opportunity to increase capacity, bring more processes in-house, diversify applications, and make informed decisions about future investment.
The relationship is designed to expand conversations beyond single machine sales into solutions based production planning, helping customers identify how additional equipment, workflow improvements, or new materials can deliver stronger commercial returns.
Digital textiles will also be a key focus. CMYUK champions market leading textile brands including UFabrik, and Eddie and his team will help customers unlock new opportunities in this area.
CMYUK colour specialists will work alongside Eddie to create dedicated UFabrik colour profiles for Liyu users. This will give customers a more confident route into textile applications, with materials and printer settings tested for reliable, productive output.
Training content and tutorial videos will also be developed around core textile applications, helping customers migrate towards new workflows with greater confidence and less disruption.
‘Liyu England has strategically chosen to anchor itself within the CMYUK ecosystem because it gives my customers access to a level of infrastructure, knowledge and product choice that can genuinely support their next stage of growth,’ said Eddie. ‘I know my customers’ businesses well and I understand the realities they face. Many are looking at how to improve productivity, add finishing, move into new applications or get more from the equipment they already own. Through this structure, I can remain their single point of contact while giving them access to CMYUK’s wider technology, materials and support infrastructure. That turns conversations into solutions led opportunities for better workflows, stronger output, and more profitable growth.’
