CMYUK named as Canon's most successful global partner for UVgel Colorado

Print Solutions

CMYUK has been named Canon's top global sales partner for its UVgel Colorado printer series sales in 2024. This accolade, announced and presented on the opening day of FESPA, follows CMYUK’s recent announcement that it was also Canon’s top partner in Europe for Colorado sales in the same period.

In a tight race for the top spot, CMYUK edged out intense competition from international markets. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the increasing global competition for the award.

Jennifer Kolloczek, senior director, marketing and innovation, production printing, Canon EMEA, said: ‘Many congratulations to CMYUK, whose rapid rise to become our top global partner in just five years is a testament to its deep understanding of customer requirements and its ability to match these with a best in class portfolio. The company truly recognises how the Colorado series’ modularity, productivity, and standout capabilities deliver value to customers in diverse application areas. With strong consulting and application expertise as well as compelling marketing, it has set a new benchmark for our global partner network. We look forward to continuing our collaborative success with CMYUK.’

Sue Hayward, commercial director at CMYUK, said: ‘This latest award from Canon, recognising CMYUK’s global pre-eminence, is a testament to our team's hard work and our customers' trust in the Colorado series. The Colorado has been a highly successful addition to our world class production portfolio, and we look forward to continuing our very successful collaboration with Canon this year.’

The Colorado series has seen increasing sales year over year via the sales partner channel, with CMYUK at the forefront of this trend. The printer has carved out a position in the mid volume sector for 1.6 metre wide format printing, creating what industry experts describe as a ‘market within a market’.

A key factor driving Colorado’s popularity is its ability to replace alternative multiple printers with a single, more efficient, modular unit. This consolidation allows print service providers to optimise their operations and improve productivity.

Chris Martin, sales director (equipment) at CMYUK, said: ‘The Colorado's modular features, coupled with its superb colour reproduction, impressive productivity, and low running costs, have made it a valuable addition to many of our customers’ facilities.’

Several factors explain the company’s success with the Colorado series, demonstrating its consistent excellence and market leadership. Its effective targeted marketing has delivered clear, compelling messaging that resonates with its customer base, helping potential buyers understand Colorado's benefits.

CMYUK is also highly regarded for its consultative customer service, consistently demonstrating it clearly understands its customers’ businesses and can provide invaluable strategic investment advice.

In terms of Colorado sales, CMYUK has kicked off 2025 with impressive vigour. The new firmware advancements announced for the Colorado at FESPA will further enhance its formidable capabilities.
