On October 1, 2026, David Stark joined Mark Andy as head of markets responsible for the DACH and Benelux regions. With many years of experience in the printing industry and extensive knowledge of the narrow web market, he strengthens the company’s European sales organisation in this strategically important part of the world.
David Stark has many years of experience gained across different areas of the printing industry. He began his professional career in 2001 as a press operator at one of Germany’s leading label printing companies, where – over the years – he gained extensive hands-on experience in all printing processes, particularly multi-process printing. In the following years, he ran his own business, also related to the printing industry, spent many years responsible for the global sales of post press equipment, and later moved into the sales of narrow web presses in the German market.
‘My professional experience allows me to look at the needs of a printing company not only from the perspective of technology itself, but above all in terms of its business model, the type of jobs it handles and the challenges it faces every day. I am starting my new role at Mark Andy with great energy and see tremendous potential for the company across the DACH and Benelux regions. I want to use my knowledge of the market and its customers to work together with the entire Mark Andy Europe team on new investment projects and, as a result, further strengthen the company’s presence in the region,’ he said.
After completing his training, David spent two years working for a rotogravure printing company specialising in furniture and flooring decor, where he was responsible for application technology and sales. As he emphasises, the combination of hands-on knowledge of production processes, entrepreneurial experience and his subsequent work in equipment sales has enabled him to understand both the technical and business sides of running a printing company.
Tom Cavalco, vice president international Sales Mark Andy, said: ‘David Stark brings to our European team a very valuable combination of production knowledge, entrepreneurial experience and many years in printing press sales. He knows the narrow web printing market extremely well, particularly in Germany, and has a strong understanding of the needs of the printing companies operating in this sector. The DACH and Benelux regions are strategically important to Mark Andy, both from a European and a global perspective. We are confident that David’s knowledge, business relationships and experience will help us increase Mark Andy’s market share in this part of the world and achieve further commercial successes in the region.’
