Enfocus has addressed one of the wide format print industry’s biggest frustrations with the latest update to its Griffin and Phoenix layout applications.

The Griffin 25.11 standout feature is support for User Units that enable users to import artworks at the correct real world scale. This eliminates previous limitations tied to the PDF format size, enabling users to trust the accuracy of their layouts without the guesswork and misinterpretations that may cause preflight errors and material waste.

The update also brings full support for Kongsberg’s underside camera technology, which is essential for specialised cutting applications requiring perfect alignment from beneath the substrate. Griffin now includes dedicated camera marks that support these complex tasks while also improving efficiency by automating the workflow.

In addition, Griffin 25.11 enhances Kongsberg table export by embedding key data like material type, thickness, and export side into the JDF workflow. This feature enables operators to set up jobs faster and with fewer errors as all necessary job parameters are automatically read from the JDF.

Phoenix 25.11 also introduces support for User Units as well as feed type matching to avoid sheetfed jobs being planned on roll fed devices and vice versa. Roll fed planning has been optimised for improved performance and support has been expanded for finishing devices that require complex barcode variations, enabling smoother integration with bound product workflows.

John Murphy, product manager at Enfocus, said: ‘The 25.11 updates for Griffin and Phoenix directly respond to chronic challenges in wide format and finishing workflows – from scaling clarity to more intelligent cutter communication – helping printers confidently deliver complex, large scale projects with unprecedented accuracy and speed. By automating previously manual steps, reducing errors, and fully supporting advanced Kongsberg cutting technology, we are empowering users to improve throughput and profitability while minimising waste and frustration.’
