Esko has strengthened its print optimisation and planning team with two new appointments, helping meet demand for its AI driven preproduction software for packaging and labels, Phoenix.
John Murphy has joined the team as product manager, responsible for direct sales of the Phoenix innovation throughout the UK, while Seyfi Sariaslan has joined as sales manager for the European market.
‘We are incredibly excited to be adding to the team ahead of this year’s Labelexpo event, where Esko will have a strong focus on spotlighting innovations like Phoenix that help deliver faster time to market for packaged goods through efficiency, sustainability, and quality as part of an integrated end to end workflow,’ said James Mason, general manager for print optimisation and planning at Esko. ‘Phoenix has already taken the market by storm, and these latest appointments will enable us to further expand our penetration as global demand continues to grow.’

An advanced software for optimising sheet and web layouts, Phoenix reduces waste by delivering AI powered nesting and imposition for sheetfed and roll fed print production across flexo and offset applications. Included as part of the Esko software platform, the advanced planning and estimation tool has applications across packaging, flexibles, wide format and commercial print.
‘John and Seyfi bring a wealth of experience to the team,’ said James. ‘With many years in the industry between them, they are incredibly well placed to showcase how Phoenix considers the real world capabilities of printing and finishing equipment on the production floor, a method for planning and imposition processes that allows users to perform quicker and more efficient combination planning, minimising press changeovers and set up times.’
‘As the market continues to adapt to evolving consumer habits and new legislation, demand continues to grow for AI driven solutions that can deliver efficiency gains while also helping achieve sustainability objectives,’ added James. ‘John and Seyfi are already meeting with customers across the sector, using their extensive knowledge and expertise to demonstrate how the award winning Phoenix empowers businesses by streamlining print workflows, optimising resources, and delivering high quality, cost effective production solutions. It enables users to fully automate their planning and early estimation processes, replacing formerly time consuming manual steps that were also prone to error.’
