Over 400 people gathered at the world famous Silverstone racetrack to celebrate the very best of the flexographic industry at a landmark anniversary awards ceremony for FIAUK.
The awards bring together the best and most innovative companies from across the flexographic industry to highlight print quality, efficiency, innovation, sustainability, and technical development.
Attendees joined together to celebrate the winners and network alongside high performance cars at a glittering drinks reception in the track’s pit lane before dinner.
FIAUK chairman Andy Wilson praised the amazing developments across the flexographic world in recent years, adding that ‘this year’s awards are an ongoing testament to this performance, with quality improving every year’.
He continued, ‘The future for flexo is positive and I am extremely proud of the work we have done, and continue to do at FIAUK, to support our fantastic industry move forward.’
This year’s awards received more entries than ever with winners praised for pushing the gold standard of flexographic printing even higher and showcasing the innovation and quality of the flexographic industry.
Smurfit Kappa led the overall winners’ tally with 21 awards in total.
Roberts Mart and Co won the most gold awards with five gold accolades, three silver and three bronze. Roberts Mart also won the Best in Show award with its packaging for Galaxy Brownie Mint Mix 360 g. Smurfit Kappa Inspirepac placed second with its Tesco Meal for Two packaging, and Reflex Label Plus took third with its label for Los Gansos wine.
Supplier of Year, selected by the printer members of FIAUK, went to Contact Originators for the third consecutive year. Jim McCormack from VCG-Connect won the award for the Outstanding Contribution to the Flexo Industry whilst Vince Ward of Smurfit Kappa took home student of the year.
The 2022 Gala Dinner was held in support of UNICEF – Children of Ukraine, raising money to support the 7.5 million Ukrainian children suffering under threat from the current crisis.
