Fuji Seal will put the future of recyclable shrink sleeves into sharp focus at Sustainable Packaging Summit 2026, outlining how the format can be redesigned for a circular economy, even as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) reshapes design for recycling requirements.
As a premier sponsor of the Summit, Fuji Seal will take to the conference main stage to present Shrink Sleeve Outlook towards 2030. The session will examine what the regulatory transition means for PET, PP and HDPE bottles and how material choice, sleeve coverage, inks, sorting technology and application performance must be considered together, not in isolation, if meaningful change is to be achieved.

Contrary to being ‘recycled out’ by PPWR, intensive research and development means that shrink sleeves are being innovatively redesigned to support circularity while continuing to deliver the core functions that brands value – from shelf appeal, to expanded decoration space, to light barrier performance.
Nicolas Gallardo, business unit manager, sustainability affairs and communication at Fuji Seal, said: ‘PPWR is restricting material and design options for shrink sleeves, but it is also creating an opportunity to completely rethink how materials, inks, decoration and sorting technology work together. The ultimate objective should not be to optimise one component at the expense of the complete packaging and recycling system.
‘Recyclable materials and state of the art technologies must continue to evolve alongside collection and sorting infrastructure. Progress will depend on packaging suppliers, brand owners and recyclers collaborating across the value chain.’
Alongside the main stage presentation, Fuji Seal will also showcase its innovative shrink sleeve, pressure sensitive labels and spouted pouch solutions at booth 71 in the exhibition hall. Information available at the booth will include the company’s latest developments supporting more circular packaging models, including the FS-HS Tunnel, a smarter approach to shrinking, and label to label concepts designed to advance circularity.
Visitors are invited to attend Fuji Seal’s conference session and meet its specialists to discuss how brands can adopt a more innovative approach to achieve a much greater degree of labels and packaging circularity, without losing sight of performance, production efficiency, or consumer appeal.
