Innotech has launched a black display hardware collection, the first of its kind offered to the UK print industry, with 12 products available now. Roller banners, pavement signs, lightboxes, a magnetic totem and a cafe barrier system all arrive in a powder coated black finish, built on the same hardware the company already supplies in silver.

The new Black Collection range will be in addition to Innotech’s existing uncoated silver aluminium range. It is designed to give customers more flexibility when installed in public facing environments, such as exhibitions, retail and reception areas. The initial 12 products are the best selling silver equivalent products, including Origin, Predator II and Vantage roller banners.

The way modern public spaces are designed has changed over recent years. A 2024 hardware specification report found that 68% of architects and designers now specify matt black as either a primary or secondary finish, compared with just 32% only three years ago. The automotive industry is also using more black finishes, rather than chrome, and retailers are increasingly using dark fixtures and framing on product shelves.

Kieran Dallow, head of customer experience and marketing for Innotech, said: ‘Silver aluminium has been the standard for the portable display market for many years. Our customers are looking for more choice when designing and specifying their signage installations, and the Black Collection gives them that choice.’

He added, ‘The standard is silver, and I am sure these will continue to be a top seller for us. But standards also move. The increasing demand for black finishes to display signage is something that we can now meet with a high quality range of familiar, yet different, products.’

The opening release covers the products printers order most, with more to come.
