New AniCam HD with Pixeloc

Packaging Solutions

Troika Systems has announced the launch of its latest product, the AniCam HD.

The AniCam HD with Pixeloc builds on the accurate anilox measurement products expected from Troika Systems. The new AniCam HD has received a major update in scanning technology to improve the user experience, with higher scan speeds, automating the user dependent functions and increasing interoperability allows it to meet the growing demands of accuracy and ease of use demanded by today’s users.

Troika’s aim is to be the standard for volumetric measurement of anilox and works closely with major scientific/research organisations, large print groups and anilox manufacturers.

The improvements over previous versions of the AniCam and HD differ in seven main areas – Pixeloc technology, an HD image sensor, user feedback through LED display, battery power status indicator, enhanced ergonomic design, faster scan speeds, and a new lighting system.

Pixeloc is the trademark for Troika Systems AniCam HD positional closed loop feedback system. For all measurement systems it is important to know that when a measurement is completed the data is based on a movement from a known data point. Due to the inherent resolution of the AniCam, this has never been a problem, but the company saw that enhancing this aspect of the AniCam would allow Troika to match more closely the AniCam to AniCam measurements, ‘interoperability’ and challenging cell geometries. Traditionally the company has used a stepping motor capable of driving the mechanics of the V7 AniCams in 1 um steps. The AniCam HD with Pixeloc uses a closed loop feedback system that measures in 0.25 um steps, therefore ensuring that when measurements are performed, it is able to capture every detail; having this patented technology, means that each AniCam HD is identical and can be relied upon to give consistent results year after year.
