Eastman Kodak Company has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining continued progress across its environmental, social and governance priorities and demonstrating the company’s commitment to responsible innovation, operational efficiency, and long term value creation.
The report highlights Kodak’s sustainability strategy across three core pillars – One Kodak, One Planet and One People – with progress in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction, water consumption efficiency, waste diversion, product innovation, workforce development, and responsible governance.
Key achievements include significant reductions in GHG emissions and water withdrawal versus the company’s 2016 baseline, strong waste diversion performance, and continued investment in circular economy initiatives such as solvent recovery and process-free printing technologies.
Kodak also continues to advance sustainable print solutions including Sonora process free plates, Prosper digital printing technology, water based inks and Prinergy workflow, helping print customers reduce waste, improve efficiency and support more sustainable production.
The report further highlights the growth of its Advanced Materials businesses. Demand for Kodak Motion Picture Film continues to increase globally, supported by ongoing investment in film technology innovation and manufacturing capabilities which enhance both product performance and environmental outcomes. In 2025, the company introduced an Anti-Halation Undercoat (AHU) structure for Kodak Vision3 colour negative films to reduce water, chemical and energy use in film processing while maintaining image quality – demonstrating sustainable product design for customers and the motion picture industry.

Kodak is also expanding its advanced battery coating activities, providing pilot and production scale battery electrode and primed foil coating services that support the development and commercialisation of next generation energy storage solutions. In addition, it continues to grow its pharmaceutical business, leveraging its expertise in complex chemistry and process engineering to support the production of critical pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates. These businesses leverage the group’s longstanding expertise in materials science, chemistry, and precision coating while contributing to emerging markets that support sustainable manufacturing practices and the transition to a lower carbon economy.
‘Sustainability is an important part of how Kodak innovates, operates and serves customers,’ said Jim Continenza, executive chairman and CEO, Kodak. ‘Our 2025 report reflects the progress we are making while recognising the work still ahead as we continue to work to reduce environmental impact and strengthen our business for the future.’
The full report also details Kodak’s ongoing focus on employee safety, skills development, ethical business practices, supply chain responsibility, environmental product and company certifications, and community engagement.
