More than 20,000 gift bags for NHS staff have been distributed to frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic – thanks to a partnership between leading sampling agency, The Goody Bag Company, and full service logistics provider, Lemonpath.

Initially the project planned to create a 10 item gift bag for the NHS, but donations soon doubled as businesses rallied to support the initiative, and the final ‘thank you’ bags were filled with 25 treats.

The project was completed in just under six weeks from start to finish, with Lemonpath, one of the largest manual contract packers in the Midlands, picking, packing and dispatching the bags to hardworking NHS staff.

Amanda Garratt, founder of The Goody Bag Company, said she was ‘never in any doubt that Lemonpath would deliver on time’.

She commented, ‘We have worked with Lemonpath for 10 years now and I knew the company would be able to take on this enormous challenge.

‘Despite the pandemic, the team at Lemonpath was able to turnaround this project due to the excellent working practices. Over the years, our model has changed significantly but Lemonpath has shown us how it can handle absolutely everything from its multiple sites, from our contract packing needs and stock and storage to managing dispatches.’

The Goody Bag Company is one of the UK’s leading sampling agencies and enjoys a strong position within the niche markets of mass participation sports and lifestyle events. Since its launch over 20 years ago, the Kent based business has grown organically and now works with high profile events and leading charities.

‘It is a huge relief when you find a company that knows how you think and knows what you want to achieve,’ continued Amanda. ‘When we started talking to Lemonpath, it soon became clear that as a full service contract packing and logistics provider, it would be there to help our business grow.’

Chris Antliff, Lemonpath’s chairman said, ‘The NHS project was truly exceptional, and it was great to be involved and send over 20,000 welfare packs to help recognise and reward NHS staff. This project shows just what can be achieved, even in the midst of a pandemic, when you are surrounded by a good team of people.’
