A top photographer will be sharing invaluable advice on creating the perfect memories, after taking first prize in a national competition.
Digital print platform, WTTB, offered one lucky person the chance to see their publication in print, to celebrate the launch of its Book Super Centre earlier this year.
The print company unveiled a whole host of self-publishing options for creating books of all kinds and to mark the occasion invited people to come up with their own book which they wanted to create.
Judges voted unanimously for the proposal from Swansea based photographer, Rasa Mombeini, who specialises in life photography, but had a very specific project in mind.
A mum of three, Rasa has spent years photographing her own children and knew how important it is for parents to capture those special moments. And now, thanks to WTTB, How to Document Your Family Life in Pictures is going into print.
Rasa won 140 top quality hard back copies of her book, which she is now going to sell via her website and on Amazon.
‘I am absolutely delighted to have won the prize, I couldn’t believe it when I found out,’ she said.
‘I specialise in family photography and I know from my own experience how important it is to have those special images from moments that you might never have again.
‘Along with tips for taking the photographs, I want to give parents so advice, for example make sure you are also in the pictures so that it really is a memory for all the family.
‘Photography is the best way to capture every moment of your children’s lives and I hope my book will help people get the best results.’
Gary Peeling, CEO of WTTB which is part of Precision Proco Group and who was one of the judges, revealed that Rasa’s book really stood out.
‘We thought it was a really exciting concept and something that would be of use to so many people,’ he said. ‘It also showcases the vast amount of possibilities there are for self publishing, whether it be a novel, a photobook or something like Rasa’s, which gives valuable advice.
‘We hope it is a great success for her.’
