Red Side Up picks Horizon CRF-362 to end crease and fold issues

Red Side Up has chosen a Horizon CRF-362 creaser/folder from IFS to end crease and fold issues.

The family run Haverhill, Suffolk print shop, established in 2011, specialises in the digital printing of books, manuals, and newsletters, print finishing services and binding. It runs Kyocera inkjet technology alongside Xerox and Fuji Xerox digital toner presses.

Paul McGerty, managing director, explains the decision to add the new finishing solution: ‘We wanted something that would end crease and fold issues. We heard about the Horizon CRF-362 from an IFS sales representative and we reviewed other systems but this, for us, was an investment for the next generation. It has already helped with a new contract we have recently undertaken.’

He added, ‘We tried a number of second hand devices, none of which have been sufficiently robust or reliable. We have also had a good experience of Horizon service with an existing folder which tipped the balance.’

The Horizon CRF-362 creases and folds in one pass a wide range of light and heavy weight stocks, coated or uncoated. Capable of up to ten crease lines on a sheet, it uses an impact matrix creasing technology that eliminates or minimises cracking of the stock or printed image. Set up and changeovers – including fold pattern, creasing number, and up/down crease selection – are completed on the high resolution intuitive colour touch screen.

Paul continued, ‘We chose Horizon CRF-362 because of its levels of automation, ease of use, and build quality. We also liked its simplicity and reliable output. The excellent service provided by IFS was important too.’
