Signs Display has strengthened its large format production capability with the installation of an Agfa Tauro H2500, building on a technology partnership that began 15 years ago. The new hybrid system has been added alongside the company’s two existing Titan printers and have bolstered its capacity while opening new opportunities in roll media, white ink, and specialist applications.
Operating since 1993, Signs Display has grown from its origins in estate agency signage into a broad print, signage, display and fabrication business. Today, the company serves customers across a range of business sectors such as retail, education, construction and design agencies, supplying such as large format and small format print, signage, banners, graphics & display merchandise.
It was 2010 when Signs Display installed its first Agfa Titan press, and two years later it followed up the purchase with its second. Both systems remain in active production today – a testament to the durability of the equipment and the value the company places on dependable technical support.
When it began considering its next major investment, it did not have to look far. The business had already evaluated the Jeti Tauro H2500 before the Covid-19 pandemic and found itself coming back several years later after reviewing several other technologies.
‘It wasn’t a rushed decision by any means,’ said Shaun Hitchman, operations manager at Signs Display. ‘It has been a calculated investment. We had looked at the Tauro years ago and when we came back to market, it was still the machine we favoured despite several more options being open to us. We felt the speed and versatility the machine provided would meet our needs and help the business to grow, opening up new opportunities for us whilst maintaining and protecting the needs of existing contracts.’
Rather than replacing existing equipment, Signs Display installed the H2500 as an additional production system. This meant the company could retain the dependable output of its two existing Titans while using the Tauro’s industrial speed and its hybrid capabilities to take on more work within the same working day.
‘We have effectively doubled our capacity overnight while keeping production within the same eight hour shift,’ explained Shaun.

The Tauro H2500 gives Signs Display the ability to handle both rigid and roll media and coupled with the Asanti workflow software it enables more intelligent work routing across its production floor. Instead of assigning jobs according to traditional machine roles, the team can now easily choose the most productive option for each application.
‘The Tauro gives us options,’ Shaun said. ‘We can look at every job and decide what is the most productive way to run it rather than being restricted by the equipment.’
The new printer also adds white ink capability, opening new opportunities for printing on clear self-adhesive vinyl, transparent and specialist substrates, and high impact display graphics.
