Sonoco announces the acquisition of Eviosys

Eviosys, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of food cans, ends, and closures, has announced its acquisition by Sonoco, a global leader in sustainable packaging. This strategic move marks a significant milestone for both companies, combining their strengths to enhance service and innovation in the metal packaging industry. The transaction, valued at approximately $3.9 billion, is expected to close by the end of 2024.


The combination of Eviosys and Sonoco will create a world leading metal food can and aerosol packaging manufacturer. Customers will benefit from an expanded global footprint and enhanced capabilities, ensuring the highest levels of service and product availability. Their combined product portfolios will provide brands with access to the broadest range of innovative packaging solutions, catering to every consumption occasion and meeting the needs of all consumers.
