Taktiful has officially launched Reaktor, a new 3D virtual soft proofing platform aimed squarely at one of print’s biggest sales problems: premium embellishments are still too often being sold with flat PDFs, verbal explanations, and slow physical proofs. Reaktor is built to change that.
Designed for printers, sales teams, and designers working with embellished print, Reaktor transforms static files into realistic digital previews of foils, varnishes, textures, metallic effects, fifth and sixth colours and other specialty finishes. The goal is simple: make embellished print easier to see, easier to sell, and easier to sign off on before a job ever hits the press.
For an industry pushing higher margin finishing and embellishment capabilities, that matters. Many print companies have already invested in the equipment and production capacity to deliver premium effects, but they are still relying on outdated proofing workflows that do a poor job of communicating value. When buyers cannot visualise the finished result, embellishment becomes harder to justify, harder to upsell, and easier to cut from the job. Reaktor is Taktiful’s answer.
‘Flat PDFs do not sell shine,’ said Kevin Abergel, founder and CEO. ‘Printers have spent years building out embellishment capability, but too many are still trying to sell that capability with tools that strip away the visual impact. Reaktor gives the market a way to show the finish, not just talk about it.’

The platform allows users to upload a file and generate a digital embellished proof in seconds. Customers can then view realistic previews of how the piece will look under different lighting conditions and environments, helping them better understand the effect before production begins. Rather than waiting days or weeks for a physical sample to be produced, shipped, and reviewed, print companies can move faster with interactive previews that are built for selling as much as proofing. That is a key distinction.
Reaktor is not being positioned as just another pre-press utility. Taktiful is bringing it to market as a sales enablement platform for embellishment heavy print businesses and the dealers that support them. The software is meant to help providers reduce approval friction, shorten proof cycles, and create stronger customer reactions at the moment premium finishes are being presented.
In practical terms, that means fewer static proofs, fewer delayed decisions, and more opportunities to sell high value embellishment work that might otherwise be lost to simpler applications.
The platform supports a broad set of embellishment effects and production categories, including flat spot UV, raised tactile UV, raised foil, gold toner, silver toner, white toner, pink toner, clear toner, flat metallic sleeking, screen printing UV flat, screen printing UV raised, and foil stamping.
‘Printers do not have a production problem here. They have a presentation problem,’ said Eric Vessels, CXO. ‘If the customer cannot experience the effect, the customer is less likely to buy the effect. Reaktor gives sales teams and dealers a way to make embellishment visible before it is printed, and that changes the sales conversation.’
