Ultima Displays maps out European growth plans with multiple HP installations

Ultima Displays’ business in the UK took delivery of a new Latex R2000 at its facility in Corby in May 2025, after finalising the investment at the 2025 FESPA Global Print Expo. The machine was purchased from and installed by Papergraphics.

Capable of running boards up to 2.5 metre wide and at speeds of up to 86 square metres per hour in indoor mode, the machine runs five litre colour cartridges and three litre white cartridges opening up all manner of work across a host of markets.

‘This was a strategic choice; it aligns with our existing setup as most of our current machines are HP, enabling streamlined reporting, consistency in quality, and a unified user interface across devices,’ said Dave Bonehill, director of operations at Ultima Displays. ‘The printer allows us to more than double our rigid board printing capacity, dramatically reducing lead times, which is a critical factor in the fast-paced retail and event sectors.’

Also key for Ultima Displays were the environmental credentials of the Latex R2000. The printer runs water based inks, which have less impact on the environment than UV, solvent and eco solvent inks.

‘With this new investment, five out of six of our print machines now use water based technology, underscoring our commitment to sustainability,’ Dave said.

In addition to the new machine at its UK site, the group has also installed a Latex FS60W at its facility in Gdansk, Poland, while its Italian business has recently taken on a Stitch S1000. Ultima Displays Poland also installed the Latex FS60W in June this year.

Elsewhere in Europe, Ultima Displays Italy signed a deal at DemoDay HP in Sant Cugat, Barcelona, to purchase its second Stitch S1000 dye sublimation machine, further supporting the company’s wider expansion plans across the continent.
