Ultimate Impostrip Native on Mac ARM

Software Solutions

Ultimate TechnoGraphics has announced Mac ARM support for Impostrip imposition software starting with version 2022.2 onwards. This hardware change is a huge shift for Mac, as it is moving away from Intel components and replacing them with its own technology. Most recent Mac software packages can run on ARM but are not native to it. Ultimate Impostrip users now have the option to run natively on ARM or continue to use the Intel version – both options are available.

With the latest Impostrip release, Mac users can now benefit from faster processing. After running through a very carefully monitored testing and benchmarking cycle, the development team measured an average productivity increase of up to 38% while running native on ARM. ‘Given that Apple have only just got started with its ARM development, it is of real benefit to our customers to already see such a nice improvement in speed,’ said Andrew Bailes-Collins, Head of product management at Ultimate TechnoGraphics. ‘As many of our customers have already purchased Apple ARM computers, they can realise the benefit of that investment by simply upgrading to this latest Impostrip version.’ This year, the software has already seen many key performance upgrades including a new and powerful scalable job manager, ability to run as a Windows service, new status API, job priorities, enhanced connectivity capabilities via Ultimate Imposition Control Language (UICL) and XML for Redirection, integration of the latest v18 Adobe PDF Library, Optimised Imposition Intelligence, and much more.
