Households dumped 5.6 million tonnes of packaging last year. New analysis has found that 5.6 million tonnes of packaging waste was binned by households last year, as councils call on new reforms to reduce packaging and make it easier to recycle.

Mondelēz International has announced that its Cadbury core sharing bars, manufactured in Bournville and Coolock and sold in the UK and Ireland, will be wrapped in 80% certified recycled plastic packaging, which can be attributed to plastic sourced from advanced recycling technology. This move is the result of a collaboration with Amcor and Jindal Films.

In partnership with Forest Carbon, pioneer of carbon financed woodland creation in the UK, paper suppllier Antalis recently hosted a tree planting day at a woodland creation project in Cumbria. Antalis, which has worked with Forest Carbon since 2014 and is its longest standing current partner, attended the tree planting day at The Croft on the Lowther Estate in Penrith, Cumbria.
