Introducing the Plastic Card Hub

Print Solutions

Plastic Card Services (PCS) has announced the launch of its new web to print offering – www.plasticcardhub.co.uk

Designed for shorter run orders, the Plastic Card Hub allows customers to choose the exact quantity of cards they want (from 50 to 5000) gain an instant price for their cards, upload or create a design from scratch (as well as include variable data) and buy online, all with the option of receiving their printed cards within three working days.

The Plastic Card Hub is the result of a £1 million investment by PCS to create a new digital print production facility at the company’s existing manufacturing campus in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Adam Unsworth, managing director of PCS, commented: ‘At PCS we always strive to be at the fore of the plastic card market, we knew the demand for shorter run work was there from our existing customers which is why we started to look into creating our digital production facility, but we also wanted to see how we could stand out from our competitors by streamlining the ordering and production process whilst also making the process smoother and quicker for customers.’

He continued, ‘When we first started researching web to print software, the overwhelming challenge we were faced with was with so many variants between individual card orders, how could we find a solution that would work for every permutation. The answer was rather than restrict the options available to customers by sticking with a set platform, we would work with the developers to create something that was exactly what we wanted.

‘We truly believe that with the Plastic Card Hub we have something that will benefit our customers and enable people who didn’t previously have the facility to design cards to create something bespoke for them at the right price.’

As well as standard CR80 plastic cards, customers can also choose from the increasingly popular card and fob format, 3-up fobs, hotel key cards with either mag stripe and DDA notches or contactless Mifare 1k chips, RFID shielding cards and contactless smart cards incorporating Mifare 1k or Mifare 4 chips.
