Skymark takes delivery of exciting press investment

Skymark has enhanced its printing offer by investing in a new colour press from German flexographic printing equipment manufacturer, Allstein GmbH.

Skymark has purchased the Allstein 8+1 colour press, which will present the company with the latest flexographic technology available on the market. The new machine, installed at Skymark’s Scunthorpe site, will provide a range of new features to significantly further improve overall quality and productivity at the company.

Delivered in August 2018, the press has a downstream coating unit, enabling Skymark to produce enhanced printing effects, which are increasingly being required by customers to create stand out shelf appeal.

Operations director Paul Neath said, ‘The purchase of this new equipment is allowing us to expand the business and grow in line with our customers’ demands. In the current market, packaging needs to stand out from the crowd and the Allstein press enables us to create new and unique graphic effects for our customers across a wide range of packaging sectors.

‘This major investment demonstrates our commitment to the flexible packaging market. It will allow us to extend our capabilities and offer a wider variety of products to our customers, ensuring they receive the best packaging design and performance for their application.’

Following the new investment, Skymark is in the process of modifying the layout of its Scunthorpe site and is planning further external expansion to accommodate the new equipment.
