Independent corrugated packaging manufacturer, Ready Case Ltd., has invested in a Bobst Expertfold 165 folder-gluer to increase productivity and provide extra capacity as it looks to the future with a programme of expansion.
The investment in the folder-gluer is part of a forward thinking strategy to grow and expand the business and to capitalise on new opportunities whilst ensuring both quality and turnaround times remain excellent. This is the company’s first investment in Bobst.
With over 35 years expertise, Ready Case has built a strong reputation for delivering distinctive corrugated packaging solutions to the e-commerce market. The family owned company specialises in cost effective, consumer friendly packaging for the distribution of books, CDs, video games, bottles and a myriad of other goods. The business is focused on investing heavily in quality and continuously developing novel solutions to add value to its customers.
Edward Kelso, head of operations at Ready Case, said: ‘We believe in continuous investment to stay ahead and deliver the high quality, specialist solutions we are known for.
‘By utilising the latest operational techniques, we are maximising efficiency and ensuring we work with both speed and accuracy to ensure we can offer our customers a quick turnaround without compromising on quality.
‘As we often create bespoke, complex solutions we were keen to invest in machinery that we knew we could rely on to deliver precise results every time. After looking at several alternatives, we felt that Expertfold 165 offered the best overall package to help us fulfil our wider business ambitions now and in the future. The new folder-gluer has delivered more than we anticipated in terms of running speed and efficiency savings, and we are thrilled with the results of this investment.’
One of the most flexible machines on the market, the solution enables folding and gluing of up to 3000 box styles and delivers the consistent accuracy and quality today’s packaging industry demands. Maintaining control during the folding and gluing process is essential for high productivity and a quality finished product. Bobst designed the highly configurable Expertfold 165 to give box makers exactly that control.
Stuart Alvey-Taylor, sales manager – BU sheetfed, at Bobst UK and Ireland Ltd, said: ‘We worked closely with Ready Case to truly understand the drivers behind this investment and what it wanted to achieve, and I am pleased to say we found the right business solution to meet its requirements.
‘We have developed a fantastic relationship with the team at Ready Case and are proud to play a part in this programme of investment by providing them with the technological capabilities to meet and exceed the expectations of their customers.’
