Customark expands digital print capability with new PicoColour

Packaging Solutions

West Midlands based Customark has been providing labelling, print and graphic solutions to a wide range of industries for the last 50 years. Following significant investment in its infrastructure in 2017, the firm looked to expand its digital print capability due to the increased demand for short run volume. With the Dantex PicoColour offering superb printed results at a competitive price, Customark felt that the press fully met its requirements.

PicoColour uses the very latest in printhead technology. Being versatile, and with a small footprint, this label printing system offers excellent print results and is suitable for short and long run jobs. Providing all the benefits of digital printing for today’s demanding production environment, including no minimum quantity, in line finishing, no waste and a super fast turnaround, the press is built to last and simple to operate and maintain. There are a number of additional options available, with Customark opting for the Corona unit, variable data package and white.

Commenting on the investment, Neil Turner, Customark’s managing director, said: ‘Having done the maths, it was clear to us that by investing in a PicoColour we could make huge time savings, significantly improve our quality and radically alter the type of work we could print and tender for, whilst improving our margins in the process.

‘We began to evaluate our options 12 months ago. We wanted to find a digital press that fully met our requirements, however some of the other options we considered did not fit that solution nearly as well as the PicoColour. The addition of the Corona unit meant that we can use a wide variety of standard laminate constructions which helped us enormously. Added to that the white print option and variable data and we felt that the PicoColour was definitely the best fit for us. The icing on the cake was the support installation and training, which has been outstanding.’

Customark’s PicoColour was installed in early October.
