The cartons sector benefits from tailored e-learning

Packaging Solutions

BPIF Cartons has recently held a series of workshops to launch a new e-learning platform, tailored to the carton industry that is complimentary for all its members. The new e-learning platform has been developed in partnership with key suppliers including FRIP, Bobst, Arden Dies, Komori, Esko, BillerudKorsnas, Stora Enso, Iggesund, Mayr Melnhof, Two Sides and Procarton.

The portal covers all key carton production stages: pre-press, print, cut and crease, gluing, and more, as well as modules on board manufacture and the carton industry. The training platform also provides detailed training on all key health and safety aspects which has been endorsed by BPIF’s experts.

Jon Clark, general manager, BPIF Cartons, explained: ‘We were delighted to welcome 35 members from 24 companies to three workshops to take them through the platform’s contents and how to use it. The platform provides tailored carton industry training in one easy to use online training portal. We believe it will save our members both time and money whilst providing relevant up to date training. Currently, the platform has 31 modules and plans are already in hand to add further modules over the course of 2020. All the modules are supported by training certificates and the portal offers the ability to record the details of all employees who have successfully completed each section. Early next year, we are planning to host a webinar to ensure members who couldn’t attend the workshops have the opportunity to benefit from this tailored training.’
